Presentation Overview
Computer Science Education Week is once again upon us, this year it is celebrated December 5-11, 2016. The message, again, is that learning computer programming is important for everyone to participate in the current and future economy. No doubt that understanding the basics of computer programming can help to create an engaged citizenry, but do we all need to become IT Professionals? For those who wish to become IT Professionals, is computer programming enough? How should they learn (and we teach them) to think critically about the impacts of the IT systems they might create? Some current examples include the emergence of fake news and the Phoenix payroll system. Please come ready to share your comments and questions.
