Overview
Discussion on new trends in Digital Forensics & Incident Response methodology which includes a case study reviewing a recent incident; including how it was discovered, investigated and the results of the investigation.
Bio
Rick Lee is a Forensic Technology Investigator, who started his forensic career 19 years ago at the Canadian Police College while a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Rick’s career with the RCMP spanned 25 years, including six years in Commercial Crime and two years starting up the Regina Integrated Technological Crime Unit. Rick is well recognized within the Digital Forensics Community and has been recognized as an Expert Witness in Provincial Court, Court of Queen’s Bench, and in Arbitration Hearings in Saskatchewan.
Rick has continued his career in Digital Forensics as a Security Manager at SaskTel for the past 12 years. Rick conducts computer investigations and is a member of the SaskTel CSIRT Team. Rick is currently the lead of SaskTel’s new ICT Business Solutions – Digital Forensics Group. Rick started and manages the “Computer Forensics in Canada” group on LinkedIn. He holds several coveted industry certifications including EnCE; he was the first in Canada to achieve the designation. He also holds GCFA and CISSP certifications. Rick is a sought after speaker who has presented at conferences in North America, Europe and China. Rick has also trained many Forensic Investigators as an instructor for Guidance Software, Foundstone, Paraben, and WetStone
