MENTORING – WHY BOTHER?

This interactive presentation will look at what is mentoring and how it can be applied in the workplace for personal and professional development. We will explore the role of the mentor, the characteristics of an effective mentor and the importance of building trusted relationships and effective communication.

We will speak to how mentoring can work in various workplace situations including professional associations. Organizations on a global basis are recognizing the business value for mentoring. In a study that was done by MSNBC a while ago of a number of interns – 85% of the respondents stated that they wanted to be mentored –not coached or managed. Explore the possibilities of how you can grow personally and professionally by attending this luncheon.
